How to find your podcast episodes: a dashboard tour

If you're new to Edit The Pod, the dashboard is the first thing you'll see when you log in. It's the home base for all your podcasts and episodes, and once you know your way around, finding what you need takes seconds.

About this tutorial

This tutorial walks through the key parts of the dashboard so you can navigate your projects without getting lost.

The Layout

Down the left-hand side, you'll see your podcast list. Click on any podcast and all the episodes for that show appear as tiles in the main view. The Recent section at the top left shows everything you've been working on lately, which is handy when you're juggling multiple episodes or shows.

If you want to start a new podcast, there's a button for that too. When you first sign up, your account comes with a demo project and a default podcast already set up. You can rename those to whatever you like or delete them once you've had a look around.

The Top Bar

Across the top of the dashboard, you'll find a few useful tools.

The Podloader is where you upload new audio files (we cover that in a separate tutorial). The search bar lets you search through everything: podcast names, episode names, and even words that were said in the transcript of specific episodes. That's particularly useful when you're trying to find a moment or a topic buried somewhere in your back catalogue.

The bell icon shows you any important updates. The question mark takes you to the help page, which has a bunch of step-by-step guides if you get stuck.

If something breaks or behaves strangely, click the little speech bubble. It captures diagnostics in the background, sends a report to the team, and lets you describe what went wrong. That way, the issue gets fixed quickly without you needing to dig through settings or error logs.

The icon at the top right opens your preferences. In there, you can switch to light mode, set up default file outputs for each podcast, and adjust a few other things to suit the way you work.

Managing Episodes

Every episode tile has a three-dot menu. Click that and you can select multiple episodes at once, then delete, duplicate, or move them in bulk.

When you delete an episode, it doesn't disappear forever. It goes into the trash folder, which sits down the bottom of the podcast list. You can open the trash at any time, find the episode you deleted, and restore it if you change your mind.

What Happens Next

Once you've found the episode you want to work on, click into it and you'll land in the editor. That's where the actual editing happens, and we'll cover that in the next tutorial.

For now, the main thing to know is that the dashboard is designed to get you to your episodes quickly. Everything is searchable, nothing is permanently deleted unless you empty the trash, and the layout stays consistent no matter how many podcasts or episodes you're managing.

If you've got questions about the dashboard or anything else in Edit The Pod, the help docs are built into the app, or you can reach out to support through the speech bubble.

Full transcript

This is your dashboard. It's the home base for everything in Edit The Pod. Down the left hand side you'll see your podcasts. Click one of those and all of the episodes show up as tiles. Recent, up the top left there, is everything you've been working on lately. And if you click on new podcast, you can create a new show.

Your account won't look as busy as this at first, but you do have a demo project in there and a default podcast as well, and you can just rename those to whatever you like. Across the top we've got the Podloader, which we've already covered. In search you can search through everything: podcast names, episode names, right down to words that were said in the transcript of certain episodes.

The bell tells you about any important updates. The question mark takes you to the help page with a whole bunch of guides in there. And if anything ever goes wrong, you just click on this little speech bubble and it captures the diagnostics in the background, sends us a report, you can tell us what went wrong, we'll get on to fixing it straight away.

The icon at the top right is where you can get into your preferences, change things like go into light mode, set up your default files for each podcast. Plenty more you can play around with in there. Every episode has these three dots where you can select to select multiple episodes, and delete, duplicate, move.

And when I say delete, it's not gone forever. It only goes into the trash down here, and then you can find it in there and you can restore it at any time. So that's the dashboard. You click into any episode there, it'll take you into the editor, which we'll do in the next video.

Upload an episode and see the edit already done when you open it. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Start your free trial. Or try the demo first, no signup needed. Everything in Learn.
