Your church already records the sermon every week. Turning that recording into a podcast people can find during the week is mostly an editing job, and it usually lands on a volunteer with not much time.
What usually needs doing
- Trimming the start and the end, so the episode begins with the message, not the room settling in.
- Cleaning up the sound from the desk or a microphone at the back of the hall.
- Writing a title and a description for the podcast apps.
- For a video, making one camera at the back of the room look good enough for YouTube.
How Edit The Pod helps
Upload the recording and Edit The Pod transcribes it, trims the chatter before things get going, cuts the long pauses and stumbles, and cleans up and levels the sound. You then read the transcript and make any changes, the way you'd mark up a printed sermon.
When you export, the Publish Pack writes title ideas, show notes, chapters and a short post for your church's social pages, all from what was actually preached.
Step by step
- Get the recording from your sound desk or camera. MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4 and MOV all go straight in.
- Open the Podloader, drop it into Podcast audio / video and click Upload and process. The Podloader works on a phone too, so it can be done before you leave the building.
- Open the episode when it's ready. Want the readings, the notices or a song out? Select the words in the transcript and choose Skip.
- Click Export, check the show notes and download everything in one go.
Good to know
- One camera is enough for a video. Edit The Pod can cut between close ups and the wide shot from a single 4K camera.
- Your pastor can upload from their phone and leave notes for whoever edits. Invite them as a host from your account menu (on a paid plan) and they'll only see the Podloader.
- Use the AI Instructions in the Publish Pack to set your church's name, service times and links once, and every episode's show notes will include them.
